In the words of our Patients: Stacy

In this series of posts, titled 'In the Words of Our Patients:', we feature posts written by Dr. Benson's patients. This post was written by Stacy regarding her experiences with the Zerona. See more information on the Zerona. See Stacy's first post written here on Dr. Benson's blog, last week.

I was so pleased with my first round of treatments with the Zerona machine, I decided to go through another round of 6 treatments.  I wanted to concentrate more on the backs of my legs.   The treatments are exactly the same, they just move the arms to the different areas of the body you are wanting to target.  I continued to wear the undergarment day and night, taking my niacin, drinking tons of water, exercising and eating a healthy diet.  The treatments again were 3 times a week for two weeks.  After the treatments were finished I would continue to wear the "girdle" at night.  I went in for measurements after another two weeks had gone by.  I had already lost 6 3/4 inches fromt he first round of treatments.  Kelly did my measuring again and I had lost another 11.75 inches!!  I lost another .5 inches from my upper waist, 6.25 inches from my lower waist (around the belly button area), and 5.25 inches from my hips!

I had really started noticing a big difference in what my friends and family were saying to me.  I had been wearing shorts, bathing suit and I was starting to get a lot more compliments.  People were saying how small I looked or how toned I had been looking.   Most were saying you couldn't ever tell I had actually carried a baby!  I felt my legs looked so much smoother than ever before.  This was so exciting for me, I have not felt this good about my body in a while.  I am so motivated to continue with my workouts and healthy eating because I want to maintain this.

In the words of our Patients: Stacy

In this series of posts, titled 'In the Words of Our Patients:', we feature posts written by Dr. Benson's patients. This post was written by Stacy regarding her experiences with the Zerona. See more information on the Zerona.

I decided to do the Zerona treatments after having a baby and not being satisfied with the way I looked.  I wanted my stomach to be tighter and the backs of my legs to be smoother.  I had lost all my baby weight, but things weren't the same.  The first day I went, I didn't really know what to expect.  I had done some research about it and was excited, but I also didn't want to get my hopes up too much.  I met Kelly and she was great!   She had to take some pictures for the before/after (this was the only bad part of the whole thing).  Of course you couldn't see my face in them, but standing in front of someone that is taking pictures of your "problem areas" is not fun.  She made me feel totally comfortable though and was super nice the whole time.  Then, I got to lay down on a small bed while she adjusted the lasers on the target areas, my lower stomach to mid thighs.  The laser "arms" look like an octopus.  You get to lay there for twenty minutes on your stomach and for twenty minutes on your back and then you're done!  I enjoyed relaxing/napping since that is a rarity for me having a baby at home!  You can't feel a thing during the treatment.

After I was finished with the first session, she came in and gave me a girdle type garment to wear.  I had to wear this day and night for the 2 week process.  That part wasn't a big deal because you really could hide it under clothes and is basically like wearing spanx.  I also was told to take niacin everyday, drink plenty of water and continue to exercise and eat well.  I already had been working out about 5 times a week, so that wasn't a change for me. Yet, I felt a little more motivated to be consistant about my workouts and eating.  I felt like in order for this to work and be able to maintain the results I was hoping to see, I needed to put forth the effort on my end as well.   I continued to go to the other five treatments, which totaled to three times a week for two weeks. Each treatment is the same.  I began to notice I was feeling smaller in the waist and also feeling like my legs had started to look smoother, especially in the front all during the first week.  After week 2, you go back for a short foot bath, which was nice because I was relaxing!  The foot bath is supposed to help with the detoxification process.  The water turns really gross colors but that is about it!

After those first 3 weeks, I continued to workout regularly and wear my girdle and take my niacin daily.  After the first two weeks when you are under the laser you are supposed to wear the garment all day and night.  When they were finished, I continued to wear it at night while I was sleeping and hanging around the house.  I also really increased my water intake.  I was noticing results even after I was finished with the actual treatments.  I went back the fourth week to do my final measurements and pictures.  I was so excited to hear what I had lost, and had already started getting lots of compliments from my close friends and family.  I felt better about myself and even bought a new pair of shorts!!  I never wore shorts before because I was always self conscious.  I was noticing that my clothes were baggier and I was more excited about shopping for clothes and making sure I went to the gym regularly!

I went in on the fourth week knowing I would hear some great things.  Kelly took my measurements and I lost 6 3/4 inches total!  I lost 3.5 inches from my upper waist, 1 inch from my lower waist (around the belly button area) and 0.1 inch from my hips, and a total of 2.15 inches around my legs.  I was so excited!!  I felt better than I had in a long time.  I did want to lose more around my hip and leg area.  I mainly wanted the backs of my legs to look smoother.  The front of my legs had been noticeably smoother.  I looked at the pictures that she had taken from the first consultation and the ones she took that day.  There was a definite difference.  I decided that I would go through another round of treatments so we could concentrate on the hips and leg area.  I was so pumped to begin again because my stomach and front of my legs were looking great, so we set up my next month of treatments.

Be sure to come back next week for more....

The Zerona

Zerona is the new body-sculpting procedure designed to remove fat and contour the body without invasive surgery. Zerona unlike other procedures allows the patient to continue their daily activities without interruptions from surgery, pain, or wounds.

This is not a quick weight loss program - we are targeting the adipose tissue and are not taking off excess water weight. We are removing the excess fat to successfully shape the body for a more desirable outcome. Think of the last time your waist was 2 - 3 inches smaller, your hips had that natural curve, and your thighs were thinner. With the ZERONA treatment you now have an alternative to a shapelier figure without having to endure the fear, and sometimes painful process of a surgical procedure.

Treatment takes 40 minutes and needs to be administered three times a week for two weeks for best results. The laser will be applied over the targeted area i.e...waist, hips, and thighs for 20 minutes and then the patient will turn over and do the same treatment on the opposite side.

If you're interested in learning more about the Zerona, vist Dr. Benson's ZERONA webpage, or visit MyZerona.com to see the research and information regarding the Zerona. Special thanks to Erchonia to providing information used in this post and video.
